A true New York legend, Julie Halston has become synonymous with the city and the business of show. She has done it all: stage, film, and television! In the past three years alone, she appeared onstage in two Broadway revivals: You Can’t Take It With You and On the Town. The former even garnered her an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play. Julie first gained notoriety for her groundbreaking work with Charles Busch in the 1980s, which saw her star in such shows as Vampire Lesbians of Sodom. She is also popular for her singular one-woman shows in which she tackles topics that range from pop-culture to politics. These solo endeavors have led her to win four MAC Awards.
Julie next stars as the powerhouse Broadway producer Rita Marshall in the much anticipated new musical Tootsie. She brings down the house and manages to steal every scene she sticks her beautiful face into. Listen in as Julie truly breaks down what comedy is all about. She has that innate ability to break you up in hysterics one moment, then make you weep the next because her comedy comes from a deep rooted source: total truth.
