Mary Beth Peil has been shining bright in the theatre, film, and television industries for the past 50 years. She made her Broadway debut and earned a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Anna Leonowens in the 1985 revival of The King and I. Since then, she has gone on to star in a diverse range of Broadway shows, including Nine, Sunday in the Park with George, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Follies and The Visit, and most recently the hit musical Anastasia for which she earned her second Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance as the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna. In 1995 Mary Beth won an Obie Award in her work in three non-musical plays, The Naked Truth, Missing Persons, and A Cheever Evening. Her film and television credits include Jersey Girl, Dawsons Creek, The Good Wife, The Odd Couple ll, Shortbus, and Flags of our Fathers to name a few. Mary Beth’s favorite role is that of playing mother to her son and daughter and grandmother her two beautiful grandchildren. She has no plans to ever retire from the stage. “Its where I feel most at home.”
